There is a wide price range from high prices for international hotel chains to very reasonable private lodgings called noclegi.

Most of the main tourists sights in and around Cracow, apart from Auschwitz and the salt mines are in the Old Town or Jewish Quarter. If you stay outside Cracow you will need to get to grips with the tram system or use taxis unless your hotel runs a shuttle bus.

The Layout of the Old Town

The Old Town is easily identified in Cracow because it is surrounded by a border of greenery that marks where the old town walls once stood. Ouside this are there is parking on the roads themselve sif you can find a slot.

The roads beside Wawel Castle offer parking centrally. It is expensive but not that extortionate for foreign tourists with a little more money to spend. Parking beside the castle is convenient for a visit to the castle and cathedral, the main square is also within easy walking distance.

Electric land trains offer sightseeing tours around Cracow and will happily take you to the Jewish Quarter and other places of interest.
